To be considered for participation, organizations had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

• Must be in business a minimum of 1 year;
• Must be a nonprofit organization with 501 (c)(3) status;
• Have a facility in the United States;
• Have a minimum of 15 employees in the United States; and,
• An organization may enter as a group of nonprofits or as an individual organization as long as each participating organization is a separate legal entity (separate subsidiary).听 Branch offices may not enter separately from their parent nonprofit unless they are separate legal entities.

Nonprofits from across the United States entered the two-part survey process to determine Best Nonprofits to Work For. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated organization’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.

The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top nonprofits and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the ranking.

The results of the 2024 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) are in, and the findings are, in a word, heartbreaking. This assessment serves as the nation鈥檚 report card, indicating how our students are performing in key subject areas, including reading and math. I have raised three children, and report card day has always been important. It tells our children how they are doing, what we can celebrate, and where we need to focus for improvement. At Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), this release day is highly anticipated as well. In January, we learned that reading performance has declined for both 4^th and 8^th grade students to historic lows. We learned that our nation is failing our children and that we have to do everything in our power to change this downward trend, invest in our children, and put them on a path to read and succeed. 

I wish there was something to celebrate in these results, but there are some truly challenging statistics to grapple with in the data:

• 听69% of 4^th听grade students are not reading at a proficient level, and in 8^th听grade, that number increases to 70%.
• The percentage of 8th-grade students reading below the basic level was the largest in NAEP history, and the percentage of 4th-grade students was the largest in 20 years.

If children are reading below a basic level, it means their opportunities are extremely limited. If they are not learning to read by 4^th grade, they cannot read to learn in middle school and beyond. When so many of our children are not reading at a proficient level, their ability to succeed in school and thrive in society is hampered significantly. Reading is a fundamental right and a basic need, and these results are a call to action.

As the leading voice for children鈥檚 literacy in this country, Reading Is Fundamental is calling on you to join us as we fight to ensure that every child has the opportunities that reading provides. The Charitable Grant Account Manager is responsible for providing support in the management of Charitable Grant client relationships and programs. The Account Manager works with clients to design a program tailored to meet their needs, based upon organizational and IRS best practices.

The Charitable Grant Account Manager is responsible for providing support in the management of Charitable Grant client relationships and programs. The Account Manager will have a portfolio of clients and manages all stages of the client relationship, beginning with client onboarding, program design, application site development and implementation through program launch and ongoing relationship maintenance.

The Account Manager is expected to work collaboratively with other members of the Charitable Grant team as well as other teams, including Funds Management, Finance, and IT.

Overall Responsibilities

• Management, engagement and retention of select Charitable Grant client accounts, client reporting, funds tracking and invoicing; establishing and maintaining overall quality control measures for the program.
• Consult on internal cross-functional account teams (including Charitable Funds Management Solutions, Marketing and Communications, Business Development, Finance, Administration) to ensure client satisfaction

Specific Responsibilities

• Assist Program Manager and Senior Management Team on organizational efforts to prevent or mitigate loss of clients as well as generation of leads for new clients or new opportunities with existing clients

• Assists with training reviewers and providing follow up as needed.

• Bachelor鈥檚 Degree required. Master鈥檚 degree or 3-5 years in related field preferred.

Marfan syndrome affects an estimated 1 in 5,000 people regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender, and experts estimate听that nearly half the people who have Marfan syndrome do not know it.听 Without proper diagnosis and treatment, they are at high risk for an aortic dissection and sudden death.听

Awareness of Marfan syndrome and related conditions leads to early diagnosis, treatment, and an extended lifespan. The most powerful way we can raise awareness is through you, our volunteers. Whether your program was started 10 months or 10 years ago, periodically stepping back to take stock of your #EmployeeVolunteer program is important to align with your corporate vision and offer听opportunities that make your program truly meaningful.

Every year, millions of people come together to volunteer during the holiday season, on the federal Martin Luther King, Jr., Day holiday (which is also known as the MLK Day of Service), as well as during the month of April when individuals and organizations across the country celebrate National Volunteer Month.听This generosity is a cornerstone of giving and it’s important to celebrate the impact volunteers have on our lives and encourages active volunteerism in generations to come, but听volunteerism has to grow beyond those specific times of the year if we are to meet the critical needs of communities. Happily, employers across the country have come to understand the role they can play in supporting their employees who want to volunteer and building social impact through workplace volunteer programs.

Volunteering is the number one motivation for employee donors, even ahead of matching charitable contributions,听so it鈥檚 not surprising to see more companies establishing employee volunteer programs as a way to engage employees and fulfill their community impact goals. As we have shared before, employee volunteer programs offer many advantages to employers and employees, including better recruiting top talent, increasing employee satisfaction and retention, focusing on employee wellness, developing skills, and much more.

Whether your program was started ten months or ten years ago, periodically stepping back to take stock of your corporate volunteer program is important to ensure you are aligning with your corporate vision and offering opportunities 鈥� to your employees and nonprofit partners 鈥� that make your volunteerism program truly meaningful. If you notice that your program is experiencing one or more of the following conditions, it might be time to take a step back and revamp your program:

• Nonprofit partners are declining to invite your company to participate in multiple engagements
• Employees have little or no say in identifying and planning volunteering projects
